Disaster zone reporting

I've reported on the devastating earthquakes that hit Turkiye in February 2023, which were the second biggest the country has ever experienced and resulted in the deaths of more than 50,000 people.

I followed communities across the south of the country as they prepared for the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, with cities still trying to rebuild and hundreds of thousands in temporary accommodation.

  • This report was filmed in the city of Kahramanmaras, which was at the epicenter of one of the two earthquakes.

Here we documented how people were trying to rebuild their lives as the Muslim holy month of Ramadan approached.

Schools slowly open in quake-hit southern Türkiye.
